Project Scope

Two Cahill Solar Hybrid LT’s were sent to a Saskatchewan mine site on a trial basis to see how they performed in the longer hours of the night and during below-freezing temperatures. As you can see, as daylight hours extended in April, the average engine run time on the Cahill units decreased by over an hour per day.

Project Results

With the decreased engine run hours on the Cahill unit, the total cost savings using a Cahill Solar Hybrid Light Tower increased and ranged anywhere from $1,143/light/month up to $2,895/light/month, depending on if you want to account for daily labor to turn on and off a conventional light tower.
