CASE STUDY:

Cahill Solar Hybrid Light Tower

Light Tower rentals in Calgary, Red Deer and Surrounding areas

Project Scope & Requirements

The Nutrien Joffre Nitrogen facility is located in Alberta, Canada. The Joffre operations are widespread and cover a lot of land. A lot of machinery is located outside; therefore, lighting the operation requires robust lighting solutions.  The Nutrien team deployed 5 Cahill Solar Hybrid Light Towers to solve the outdoor lighting concerns.

Nutrien takes advantage of the increased hours of sunlight in the summer months to complete the site’s turnaround operations.  The additional summer sunlight further helps charge the solar batteries.  Additionally, the warmer summer temperatures allow the batteries to maintain their charge for longer periods. The annual turnaround involves scheduled maintenance and upgrades to improve site safety and efficiencies.

Project Goal: Reduced Carbon Footprint

Nutrien is always looking for opportunities to reduce and minimize scope 1 emissions.  Operating in northern Canadian climates presents many hurdles for emission-saving initiatives due to extreme cold weather.  Therefore, Nutrien proudly embraces any opportunity to reduce its carbon footprint.
